Apple Remote App

I came across the following YouTube today. Apple has quietly released a new version of Remote Apple for iPhone or iPod Touch. It extends the functionality to control the Apple TV on top of iTunes.

If you are using Remote App to control your Apple TV, you can now enjoy the multi-touch feature to scroll the songs or movies on your Apple TV. This definitely add a new dimension of “Cool” feature compared to the old remote that use button to scroll up or down.

Japanese Pasta

Do you like pasta? Have you tried Japanese Pasta?

Well, I went to try the Shokudo Japanese pasta at City Link last week. We tried 4 dishes, pasta, pizza, salad and a soup.

Overall, I like the pasta and pizza, it has its own unique taste compare to the Ang Mo pasta. The pasta was cooked in a cream sause with bacon. There is a half boil egg on top that make the dish very attractive and appetizing.

However, i found the bacon is a bit too salty and the milk favour of the cream sause is too strong for me. As I do not take milk, but I think people who like milk will love it.

The pizza sits on a wooden plate and the thin crust is very crispy. What a coincident that I order a pizza with bacon on top, making it a bit salty like the pasta. Overall, the pizza is very seducing and I will love to try another favor during my next visit.

The salad has a good mix of different vege with different colors. It also contains some raw salmon sashimi, octupus and crab meat making look very Japansese… ;-)

Soup taste nice too, with crab meat on top. Again, it tastes a bit too milky to me only.

If you have not try Shokudo, go try it and I am sure you will fall in love to the unique Japanese presentation of the dish.

Singapore Fireworks Celebration & Festival 2008

Singapore had its Fireworks Celebration & Festival 2008 at Marina Bay floating platform on the Friday and Saturday nights. It was a spectacular and amazing night to witness and experience the attractive fireworks right at the heart of the city.

I was there to witness this marvellous event on both days. I really enjoyed it though it was drizzling on both nights. This was the best fireworks viewing experience that I had.

I was there to see 2 or 3 years ago but I had quite an awful experience before. it was so crowded and I could not really enjoy the night. Worse still, the smoke and burning smell left behind by the fireworks really made me breathless.

Due to this bad experience I had, I decided to take a risk and go over to the other side of the Marina to view the fireworks this time. The location I went is right opposite the floating platform, on the other band of the marina.

Wow, I like the place very much. Firstly, there is a big field and therefore it was not that crowded. It is much further from the fireworks lcoation and therefore the smoke and burning smell did not affect me on both nights ;-)

Plus, it is good location for me to take good photo shots as it can capture a wide area of the sky. Unfortunately, I do not have a wide angle lens, otherwise, I can capture the fireworks and the whole city skyline together.

I let my camera continuously snapping pictures for 10-15 minutes. I even filled up my 1G memory on the 2nd nights. I had close to 350 photos. Amazing and I like it very much as this is the first time I managed to take the fireworks photos myself ;-)
