After getting an iPhone, I have been following very closely on the iPhone and Mac development from Apple. Finally, I came across this exciting news that Google had released a Google Earth Application on iPhone.

Google Earth on Apple iPhone

Google Earth Released Right After Android

Google eath was one of the exciting application featured on Android while Google released the 1st G-phone with T-mobile last week. Best still, the application allow the street view… wow, that is amazing and find a location will become easier in future that I can familiarize myself on the Google Earth first before heading to the location.

Apparently, Google is capitalizing on all available opportunity to dominate the mobile world, therefore, it is not surprising Google built an app for iPhone, as iPhone has finally surpassed blackberry in unit sales.

Shake Your iPhone & Experience Walking on Street on iPhone

After reading the Google Earth application, I can’t wait to load it on my iPhone. One interesting and exciting you can experience only on iPhone is motion detection feature on iPhone. You can simply shake or tilt your iPhone and you can maneuver easily on the Google Earth without touching the phone. This makes use of the accelerometer in the iPhone to achieve this exciting handheld experience. Exciting, isn’t it?

Cool invention from both Google and Apple, I am waiting for it to be available in Singapore App store.

After quite a long wait and series of talk and rumour on the internet, Google has finally released its first Android power Google phone.

It is a phone produced by HTC and sold in the US by T-mobile. Android is a new open source mobile platform that is set to compete in the smartphone market. It is also another key strategy Google is trying to dominate the world after its success dominating the internet. Having a mobile platform allows Google to get into the life of everyone of us as almost all of us hold at least a mobile now, we talk, we chat and we communicate on the mobile.

Alright, let’s talk a look at the G-phone.

Google Phone Not Appealing Outlook

Hmmm….looking at the product itself, I am not so much impressed by its outlook. It looks very similar to a regular smart phone out there in the market. In particular, I am not a fan of a sliding phone. Its outlook does not create any pull factor to attract me at all, it just remind me of the very old Nokia communicator phone… ;-)

Anyway, I think it won’t attract the X-Y generation so much, its outlook just cannot compete with Apple iPhone, Samsung or Sony Ericsson.

T-Mobile G1 Google Android Phone

Google Android Compete on its Functionality

I watched the following 2 videos to get a glimpse on the Google phone’s functionality. One key advantage of Android is definitely its open source concept, that will attract lots of programmers and developers to create cool app for it, plus Google is setting aside 10 millions to reward the best developer, if you are one, do miss this opportunity ;-)

The phone comes with touch screen functionality, 3M camera and the 3D graphic looks impressive to me. The touch screen works very similar to the Apple multi touch concept using finger gesture. The 3M camera and 3D graphic I think will definitely out beat Apple iPhone.

My overall feeling is that Android’s ability to tap into the Google technology is set to provide an advantage to on its mobile app. The software appear to be running faster as well compared to the iPhone.

So, are you getting a G-phone? Or when is it coming to the Asia? I think black berry and palm devices will be hit hardly if that turns truth.
